Your shoes. Your color.

Keep it subtle, or add a little contrast.

01 / YOUR STYLE

Two profiles. One simple idea.

Both use stretchy laces and knots. Choose the look you like, and check the eyelets on your shoes.

COOLKNOT

Fuller knots and a more substantial profile. The standard COOLKNOT look.

THE FINER PROFILE

COOLKNOT SLIM

A slimmer cord with smaller knots. For a lighter, more understated look.

Eyelet size and shape matter. Some shoes may not fit either model. If unsure, ask store staff before choosing.

02 / YOUR LENGTH

Count the eyelets.

Count the holes you will use in ONE row of ONE shoe — not both sides together.

A little color. A different look.

Match your shoes, or make the laces the accent. Check the actual color and the selection available in store.

03 / YOUR FIT

Lace once. Adjust to you.

We recommend putting your shoes on first, then threading and adjusting the laces while wearing them. This lets you feel the fit as you go and adjust each section to your foot. The photos illustrate the threading technique. Also follow the included instructions.

Starting the laces from the bottom eyelets

Put your shoes on first

With your foot in the shoe, thread the lowest pair of eyelets and even out both ends. Keep the shoe on as you work upward in a criss-cross pattern.

Stretching a knot to pass it through an eyelet

Thread and adjust as you go

Hold the narrow sections on both sides of a knot and stretch gently to pass it through. Check the tension as you thread each section and adjust it to your foot. Do not force a knot through an eyelet.

Adjusting individual sections of the laces

Check your fit

Keep the shoe on and check for pressure or looseness over your foot. Move the knot positions a little at a time where needed, without overtightening.

Weaving extra lace length into the lacing

Tidy up the ends

Following the included instructions, weave extra length forward into the lacing. Once the ends are secure and cannot drag or catch, walk a few steps and check for pressure, looseness or heel lift.

Check the fit and condition before use. Replace worn or damaged laces. If a knot will not pass through, stop and ask for advice.

A little help, if you need it.

The knots won’t pass through.

Stretch the knot between the narrow sections to make it slimmer. Do not push or pull it through by force. Some eyelet shapes or sizes may not be suitable, even for SLIM.

It feels too tight — or too loose.

With your foot in the shoe, move the knot positions a little at a time. Check each section, then walk and check again.

There is too much length left over.

Follow the included instructions to weave in the extra length. If it remains too long, ask about a different size. Do not leave the ends dragging.
